My name is Merel. In November of 2020 I founded my company: Taste your way around, during a minor regarding entrepreneurship. I already had my first two projects in collaboration with ‘de Brabantse Hoeve’ in January of 2021 and I found out that I enjoyed working for myself a lot. We created an Italian and Mexican food box to have a culinary experience at home during lockdown.

I want to create food tours revolved around the culture of a country. One can not get to know a new place in a better way than to literally eat oneself away through it. If I go traveling myself, I don’t look up what I want to see, but I look up what I want to eat. I look for the best dishes who symbolize the place and then find out where they do this the best. I love to share my ideas with other people and see them enjoying the different foods. Food can also tell stories about countries’ history, traditions and flavor, and I make sure to always listen.

Food and travel always have been my passions and being able to make a business out of a combination of these two always have been my dream. For the last two years I’ve been doing some consumer research and found out there is a big demand for food tours who are accessible for all. After guiding many food tours for fun for my friends and anyone who wanted to join, I decided I wanted to take a step further. In March 2022 I want to launch the first food tour in Prague and hopefully start an on growing business from here.
